Julianna Astarita

Julianna is an associate in the Litigation practice, where she focuses on voting rights, election litigation, and other high-stakes, pro-democracy matters.

Prior to joining Elias Law Group, Julianna was an honors attorney in the Civil Rights Division of the Department of Justice. During her time there, she led the excessive force claim of the Division’s pattern or practice investigation into the Memphis Police Department. Before joining the Department of Justice, Julianna was a Redstone Fellow at the Roderick & Solange MacArthur Justice Center and clerked for the Honorable Karen Nelson Moore of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit.

Julianna graduated magna cum laude from Harvard Law School, where she served as an editor of the Harvard Law Review and was an extern for the MacArthur Justice Center’s Supreme Court and Appellate Project and the League of Women Voters. Before law school, she earned her Master of Philosophy with distinction from the University of Cambridge, St. John’s College, and graduated summa cum laude from Northwestern University.

Julianna is based out of the firm’s Washington, D.C. office.
