Jyoti Jasrasaria is an associate in Elias Law Group's litigation practice, where she focuses on voting rights and redistricting litigation.

Jyoti’s practice encompasses all aspects of both federal and state litigation, including pleadings, depositions, motion practice, oral argument, and expert and fact witness examination. She has experience in emergency high-stakes briefing at the state and federal trial and appellate levels, including at the U.S. Supreme Court.

At ELG, Jyoti has been part of the teams that successfully proposed Pennsylvania’s current congressional map after political impasse and that won several lawsuits in the Ohio Supreme Court in 2022 to strike down the state’s gerrymandered legislative and congressional maps. She is also on the team challenging Georgia’s 2021 omnibus voter suppression law in federal court.

Prior to ELG’s founding, in 2020, Jyoti was involved in all aspects of the litigation concerning the presidential election results in Michigan and defended the presidential electors pledged to support then-President-Elect Biden in a Nevada election contest. She was also a member of the team that secured a consent decree with the North Carolina State Board of Elections regarding absentee voting in the 2020 general election and successfully defended it all the way up to the U.S. Supreme Court.

Jyoti is a graduate of Harvard College and Harvard Law School and was an editor of the Harvard Law Review. She clerked for the Hon. David J. Barron of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit in Boston. Before law school, Jyoti was a field organizer on President Obama’s 2012 re-election campaign in Florida and served as a political appointee in the Executive Office of the President, where she coordinated an effective outreach campaign for one of the Obama Administration’s key legislative priorities.
