Simon Barnicle is an associate in Elias Law Group’s Political Law practice, where he advises campaigns, party committees, PACs, and tax-exempt organizations.  He has experience in government and on several campaigns. 

Simon advises clients on election administration, campaign finance, and nonprofit tax law. He has significant experience with political advertising, digital fundraising, contract negotiations, and Minnesota election law.

Before ELG, Simon was an attorney on the Biden for President campaign and presidential transition. Previously, Simon was a senior staffer for U.S. Senator Tina Smith. He is an Officer in the U.S. Army Reserve.

Simon earned his J.D., cum laude, from Harvard Law School, where he served as an editor and the vice president and treasurer of the Harvard Law Review. His writing has appeared in The Atlantic, and the Minnesota Reformer.
